Garfield Park Conservatory Wedding

Last Friday I got the chance to assist my good friend Laura Meyer in shooting a small wadding ceremony at the Garfield Park Conservatory. WOW! What a fantastic place. This was my first time there, and it was incredible.  I love the smell of greenhouses, and this was one BIG greenhouse! The light was terrific and the temp inside was about 75 degrees (as opposed to about 50 outside).  The Bride and Groom,  Ali and Dolan, had originally planned to have the ceremony outside, but this was an excellent back up plan.

The ceremony itself took place between a waterfall (cool) and a pond. I shot from across the pond with the long lens while Laura did the close-ups. Afterwards, we spent about 45 minutes shooting throughout the rest of the conservatory and then went back to Ali and Dolan’s studio (they’re artists) for some cake, champagne, and some shooting on the roof  🙂
